is the national umbrella organization of church-based education providers, with members that include educational institutes, competence centers, and organizations from the Catholic, Protestant Reformed, and ecumenical communities. They are all connected in providing church-based educational offers for adults, founded in the Christian context. Among the organization’s major goals is strengthening the place of these endeavors within church and society. The plusbildung members are characterized by a particular openness, and they extend their offers to one and all.
plusbildung was founded on July 2, 2013 by the two associations KAGEB (Catholic Working Group for Adult Education in Switzerland and in Liechtenstein) and Fokus Theologie (Adult Education of the Protestant Reformed Churches in Switzerland). The goal is to promote networking and cooperation among the providers of Catholic, Protestant, and ecumenical adult education, focusing on creating an ecumenical website as a platform for educational offers and on hosting the annual autumn meeting of educators in the field.
At the beginning of 2018, plusbildung was transformed into an umbrella organization in accordance with Swiss law, with members playing an active role in the development of the national association.
